In this Pride and Prejudice variation Fitzwilliam Darcy has decided that to stop the Darcy curse continuing to the next generation he cannot marry and have children. On meeting Elizabeth Bennet he feels he must ensure that they cannot have feelings for each other so he insults her at the Meryton Assembly.
Unfortunately at the Netherfield Ball Elizabeth is accidentally compromised by Darcy.
